17 Months: My Sprouting Bloom

My sweet little Flower,
Oh Alina. You just keep getting more fun by the day. You are my little buddy, and I am quickly learning that you will forever be my excuse to do all the fun stuff we find ourselves doing. Like just this week, you ventured into the splash pad with all your clothes on, and I didn’t even stop you. You got drenched {it was 1*0*0* degrees}, and so did I, and you thought that was the funniest thing ever. I didn’t really consider myself to become a “fun mom”, but you’re bringing it out of me.
You are sprouting up so quickly now. You are growing into a long, lean beauty. Just like your Daddy. We had to store all your 18 month size clothing, which means you are now wearing size 24 months and you wear a size 7 in shoe. You are a big girl!
I keep you very busy with storytimes and parkdates during the week, and on the weekends your Daddy wants to see you in action too, so we’re always on the go. You just crack us up!
Unfortunately, my love, today is not one of those days. Your Daddy is struggling with food poisoning and I have the biggest headache known to man, so I’m going to keep this short {for me. anyway}. I am finding it difficult to feel under the weather with a toddler on the go. You don’t understand why Momma is keeping her eyes closed and why Daddy is home, but can’t leave the bed. I have seen this too much today…
You such a smart little girl. You know many of your body parts, such as your: eyes {ojos}, nose {nariz}, ears {oreja}, mouth {boca}, your hair {pelo}, head {cabeza}, su manitos {your hands}, toes, feet/hands, your bellybutton and tummy. We are still working on shapes and colors, and you started copying us when we count. When we say “one, two…” you say “threeeee!!” You will pretty much attempt any word we ask you too. Except for “thank you”, in which you insist on using sign language.

The second nap is completely gone. We get out of the house first thing in the morning, get back in time for lunch, and then you sleep for three straight hours. I make sure to get you all tired out! Nap time is also known as “Mommy’s time” and I love it! I love you more, but I do love your naps too :)

Next month you will be one and a half years old, Alina, and I’m not sure that makes me happy. Daddy says its time to give you a little brother, and maybe he is right. Oh, how I miss you as an itty bitty!
I love you Alina. Today, yesterday and tomorrow. You and your Daddy will always be the most favorite part of my life.
Te quiero por siempre,

Su Mama
