My Sweet,
I am so late with this post that it will be time to do another one soon. Forgive me…
You are a super duper big girl now, wearing size 24month or 2t and a size 8 in shoes. You can thank your Daddy for your giant feet. You still love your pearls, but are very selective on the outfits you want to wear them with. You love having a bow in your hair because you know its the finishing touch and means we will soon be leaving the house. That goes for your shoes, too. You tell Momma, “Shoes on. Go, go, go!”.
You are very expressive and love to make Mommy and Daddy laugh. You make silly faces or do your latest trick over and over. Having our attention never gets old for you, and you love more than anything when we are all together. After Daddy gets home from work on a Friday night, and we’ve eaten dinner, he and I curl up on the couch and watch you act like your silly self. We call this time our Friday night entertainment. You love to dance, and we love watching you do so.
Alina, I can’t tell you how often you surprise me with your intellegenice. We pretty much hold conversations all day. You tell me what you want, if you are hungry or thirsty, if its time for “night night”. You know the names of many fruits and veggies. You say thank you {and gracias} and “welcome” and when someone sneezes you say “bess you”. You tell me that you love me, giving me sweet kisses on my cheeks and forehead. You also tell me who else you love, including your Daddy and baby doll. You are regularly putting two words together {like “hold it” or “like it”}. You love to sing your ABC’s {which sound something like: A, a, a, b, e, z, z,} and your 1,2,3′s {which is more like: 1,1,1,3,3,3. You skip the 2 every time}. Your other favorite song to sing is Barney’s I Love You song, which we always sing at the end of storytime. Your version sounds like: “I love-ie, I love-ie. Momma, do it!”. That’s my cue to sing the song while you hug me tight. Life doesn’t get much better than days filled with your love. All of your words are a mixture of English and Spanish, reinforced with a few signs.
You are amazing, Alina. And I adore everything about you. You are sensitive and sweet. You know what you want, and use your abilities to communicate those needs to me. You can be selective in who you share your love with, but those fortunate few love to soak in your sweetness. You are cautious in new surroundings, yet wildly excited about life. Alina, Your personality is the perfect match for mine, and I pray every single day that you and I continue to be as close as we are right now.
I love watching you grow. When I envision your future, I see an intelligent and strong woman who is fierce enough to lead the life with purpose and that makes her most happy.
I am most happy with the life I am leading today, as your Mommy. I hope you always know and feel the adoration my heart holds for you.
Te quiero por siempre,
Su Mama

She’s SMILIN’!!! I’m sure you didn’t have to work too hard for those pretty smiles! I remember you mentioned that in a previous post. So cute!
