We took Alina to the pumpkin patch near our home earlier this month and, as you will see in the following pictures, she had such a great time that she couldn’t spare 3 seconds to look at Mom and her giant box of metal and glass. It was the perfect opportunity for a photo memory, but Alina had other plans. Usually I can get a big eyed, blank stare at the camera long enough for one shot, but today there were too many other things to look at. Literally, she is not looking at the camera for a single picture. I’m happy that she had a great time, but man… can’t a momma get ANY love? Such is life with a toddler, I suppose!
I pulled out every photography trick I knew to document my photo memory, but I could not get this kid to look at me for a split second! Just when I was about to call the day a photographic flop, Daddy D and I agreed to let Alina get on her very first carnival type ride.
I was hecka nervous. I’m not going to lie. My baby still seems too much like, well, a baby to be going on rides. There weren’t many people waiting to get on, if any, so I consulted with the ride attendant beforehand and she agreed to stop the ride at any moment Alina started to cry. So,with precautionary measures taken, Daddy D walked her out towards the swing and my photography flop began to change into a photographic gold mine that very moment!
These photos are far from perfect, or even good. They are certainly the most unfocused images that have graced the walls of this tiny blog. But after all my attempts to get Alina to smile or even look at me, I left the pumpkin patch a happy momma knowing that I was able to document my sweet baby’s happiness as she rode her very first carnival ride. Photo memory success! What more can I ask for?
Happy Tuesday, beautiful readers!

You know how to put a smile on my face – just show off Alina’s! And I love the pumpkin having it’s ride too.
I am smiling, too! What a beautiful day, beautiful girl and fun post! Thank you for sharing this happy experience with us. I am smiling to myself not just about Alina, but also about the memories of my own children and their first carnival rides and visits to the pumpkin patch. What fun memories!
