Can you believe Easter is coming up?! I’ve been slowly picking up items for my girl’s Dog Lover’s Easter Basket to create something unique as her. No matter the season or reason, this little girl LOVES a furry best friend more than any other. So when Walmart asked me to celebrate the release of ANNIE and their exclusive gift set and soundtrack, I was excited to add Sandy, Annie’s furry friend, to the basket.
We’ve been jamming to ANNIE’s soundtrack since the movie came and even wrote a post about each track on the CD! There are so many great parenting lessons and catching tunes on there! 10 Reasons Your Multiracial Children Need To See ANNIE was my way of expressing our love for the words and messages in this updated classic. Why We Love ANNIE + Sandy
Part of the magic of ANNIE is her adorable, loyal dog, Sandy. She stayed close to Annie on her adventures through New York City, slept close to her at night and loved Annie when no one else seemed to. My dog-loving daughter was ECSTATIC to see the strength in this friendship! Add the fact that my biracial child could actually see herself in Annie, made the whole experience so wonderful.

Easter Basket for Dog Lovers
Throughout the ailse of Walmart, I was able to find plenty of fun additions to our Dog Lover’s Easter Basket! Walmart has a huge selection of Easter candy and baskets, but I scoured the whole store to find items that would fit.
The dog teacher t-shirt found in the big girl’s clothing section of the store is my favorite! The bow totally reminds me of ANNIE and the pink hue will look perfect on my girl! I picked up dog and animal stickers and Post-It notes in the craft sections; a cute dog bowl to store her hair bands in Walmart’s pet section and, of course, plenty of candy-filled eggs. I was able to find everything at Walmart for not a ton of money.
