And The Liebster Blog Award Goes To…

Ok, so I thought this thing was some kind of a joke at first. Not to play down all the fun things going on here at De Su Mama, but I am always shocked and grateful when recieving emails or comments from you guys, let alone an award.

Anyway, LC from Lawton Lane and Jen from empatheia contacted me a few weeks ago saying that they both awarded me the Liebster Blog Award. How cool is that! What I especially love is that these two women, although very different and blog about varying genres of life, both have such amazing hearts. LC is a a married diva, without kids, living the glamorous life {she’s also a professional photographer!}. If LC lived in Vegas, she would be the friend that would dress me up for a fun girls’ night on the town! Then there’s Jen, an alternative educator, mother of three biracial children, in a mixed race marriage for 15+ years {we are both contributors for Multicultural Familia}. Jen is that woman I would sit in a coffee house for hours, soaking up her wisdom on parenting, marriage and everything in between. She is passionate about the issues close to her heart… and to me, there is nothing more beautiful than that. Thank you for  the blog award, ladies!!

So here’s how The Liebster Blog Award works…
The Liebster Blog Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. The award is designed to recognize worthy, lesser known blogs and to help expose their work.
 
The rules for the Liebster Award are:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top five picks {with less than 200 readers} and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too!

 {1} Goddess In The Machine: Okay. Let me just say this word of caution: if you are easily offended by language or dark humor, don’t get mad at me when you visit this amazing blog and find yourself so entangled in her words. This woman is an AMAZING writer. I found her through a virtual writing society and haven’t let go since. When my writing gets weak, or lacks a certain edge, I look to this chick to pull me out of my rut. Amazing in a horribly, demented, high IQ kinda way. Check her out.
 
{2} Inside the Mind of a RockStar Mom:  Stefanie is a super rockstar Mom! She lives in Vegas, is always attending some hip event or grand opening, all while staying a fabulous mom to 4 adorable kiddos. She’s my go-to blog for all things rockstar in Las Vegas.
 
{3} Clik With Me: I’m not sure how many followers Anna has. It could, and should, be well over 200. But I thought I would let my readers in on one of my most favorite photography secrets…uhhh, I mean blogs. Anna and I have similar equipment, but she has constantly pushed me to be better with wonderful explanations of photography basics. Her writing is cohesive and to the point. She lets her images do all the elaborating. You will love her blog. And you’re welcome :)
 
{4} La Cabrona: For the record, “cabrona” is Spanish for what in English we would describe a woman that likes to, um, nag…except the more accurate word starts with a B. To mix the cultural lines up even more, in many Latino families, calling a woman a “cabrona” can be a term of endearment. Sexist? Sure. Degrading? Ok. Whatever… I was called a cabrona my whole life. I like to nag. But mostly, my sense of humor is Latino to the core, which is why I think Nikkeya’s blog is so dang hilarious.
{5} With my Whole Heart: In the true spirit of this award, I am giving the Liebster award to Andrea, who is a relatively new blogger to the scene. I know her personally and she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. As she enters the world of Momma-of-two, I’ll be checking her blog for tips and tricks. You will fall in love with her, I’m sure.
