Our Back to School Morning Routine for Family of Four

Healthy Morning Routine For The Whole Family

Alina starts pre-k soon and, while she’ll only be in school for half days, making sure our back to school morning routines are healthy for the whole family is a top priority of mine. Mornings are critical to setting the tone for a successful and positive day.

So when Walmart asked me to share how I was going to make my back to school routine work for the whole family, I started to put my plan in motion. I have to make sure each members of our family of four is making healthy choices as they start their day. Dad, mom and kids each have their unique needs. Here’s what I have in mind!

1. Me time: I need “me time” early in the morning so that everyone can start their day on a positive note. I usually wake up well before the house starts to stir, drink my coffee and wipe down the kitchen. I love a clean kitchen and can’t start my day without a clearing my counter-tops. These Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are my best friend!

2. Green Smoothies for all: Consuming vegetables everyday is imperative to health and ever since Alina was young, my goal has been to get leafy greens into my kids within the first few hours of the morning.

To accomplish this, I depend heavily on green smoothies. They’re quick to make and packed with essentials that a back to school routine needs to stay healthy. I use Walmart’s Marketside Organic greens (spinach, baby kale, mixes) because they’re affordable and organic.

I recently started using this awesome appliance, the Sport Rocket Blender by Bella Linea Collection, to make Alina’s green smoothies even quicker with easy clean up. At less than $20, I love it!

3. Protein shakes: Daddy D loves protein shakes. Usually we buy these pre-made Six Star protein shakes because he flies out of the house quicker than I’d like. Sometimes he stands still long enough to make a shake from powder though.

4. Vitamins: It’s true, my needs are always last in the morning chaos. So when I do turn my attention to my health, I am quick to take a vitamin. I like the ones that specially formulated for women’s health. I’m mindful to take the vitamins with a big glass of water infused with lemon to increase the health benefits.

I’m hoping to refine our back to school routine as Alina’s first day approaches. I’m sure this routine will take lots of tweaking! How do you keep your family healthy during your back to school routine?

My blender almost caught fire. It’s time for a new one. I may have to give this one a try. I’ve been getting into protein shakes too. Yum!
