Blog Standard
De Su Mama could not be what it is without a high level of integrity and blog standard. With the amount of transparency and emotion that goes into this space, I don’t see how any author could maintain falsity in their delivery. Of course, sometimes my rose colored glasses are on, making the world look sunny and bright. But sometimes the weather sucks and it’s pouring outside – I get that. Trust me when I tell you that I’ve spent enough of my days concerned with what I can’t do when its raining, versus focused on the possibilities within my control. The rain always stops, the flowers always bloom and we are blessed to be here to experience it all. The focus on positive at DSM is my way of parenting from that perspective. I want my kids to see triumph, success and opportunity – even in the face of the contrary. I won’t raise victims. I never publish anything on DSM without first thinking: “How will this impact the identities of Alina and Sebastian in 5, 10, 20 years from now?”
Blog Integrity
I blog with integrity at De Su Mama. Actually, I try to live with integrity too. I am sooo far from perfect, but I really do try my best. Blogging with integrity means that the trust of my readers and blogging community is important to me. I believe in intellectual property rights. I don’t steal photographs or content. I don’t steal ideas. Blogging with integrity also means: “I disclose my relationships, policies and business practices. My readers will know the difference between editorial, advertorial, and advertising. If I do sponsored or paid posts, they are clearly marked.” Please visit the Blog with Integrity website for more information on blog standard practices.
Blog Disclosure
De Su Mama is a home of memoirs for my children; it will always remain so. But this site has also turned into a space for me to explore my professional ambitions, and being able to do so has made a world of difference to my identity. I love being a SAHM, and would never choose otherwise, but the world of social media has allowed me pursue my ambitions as a writer and producer of content while still raising my babies at home.
With the re-launch of DSM, I thought it was necessary to inform my readers of these updated goals. It is important to me that you feel informed and respected. This is a list of disclosures that I want my readers to know. If you have any questions, always feel free to email me at Vanessa at Desumama.com.
-De Su Mama is NOT a review or giveaway blog, nor a constant stream of advertisement. DSM is my platform to reach publishing goals and to obtain sponsored experiences as noted in the Work With Me page. I am blessed to have my beloved readers along for the ride!
- At times, I am hired to write sponsored posts. I make concerted efforts to ensure the brand, mission and content is relevant to my readers’ (and of course, our) lives. I pass on many opportunities, and will only take posts that I am proud of. Sponsored posts are always disclosed at the bottom of the post.
- At times, I am hired to review a product and host a giveaway. These products will be ones I seek out or really want to try myself. The product is then mine to keep, unless otherwise noted. In most cases, negotiating an additional product to give away on the blog is included. Product reviews are always disclosed at the bottom of the post.
-At times, I am hired as a brand ambassador. I also work with social media networks. These relationships are listed in the sidebar. I have met or know personally a representative of all of the networks and brands that I am professionally associated with. They are honest, reliable businesses who also promote high blogging standard. I will not work with a network otherwise. Work I do out of a network or ambassadorship relationship will be disclosed at the bottom of the post.
-Advertisement will be seen on De Su Mama, as long as it coincides with DSM blog standard. You are welcome to check out the Advertisement Page.
Beloved Readers
I don’t care about blog stats. They will show up in the sidebar occasionally because that’s how the social media world operates, but I could care less about them. What I DO care about (very very much) is the community of legacy builders that we are creating here. I care about you guys, my readers who email me and reach out with stories of their own legacies and triumphs. I also care about my fanatical obsession to become a published author. Everything I do on this blog will be purposed to lead me in that direction; I ache to see my name in print. So, to show true faith in this process, I share with you the one thing I have kept off this blog since the beginning: my full name is Vanessa Bell. Before that, I was Vanessa Martinez. Hopefully, one day soon, that name will be seen on a silky cover that you can hold with your hands and feel in your hearts all that my hopes have for De Su Mama. This blog is my baby, and your readership and community is respected and appreciated.
Con mucho amor (With lots of love),

Vanessa,
Not only is the redesign of this blog beautiful in every way, but so are you. You pour so much love into this space, your home, your children, your marriage, your friendships and all that matters most to you. You have such passion for all that you do – and it shows. I am so blessed to be a part of your life and see, up-close, all of the ways in which you succeed. This is just the beginning! I love you my friend!
Love and thanks to you, dear friend!
Beautifully said Vanessa.
You’ve always had a way with words and no doubt, you will have your name in print one day very soon! From your lips to God’s ears…it’s on it’s way. ♥
Which is exactly why I put it out there, dear friend! Universe: I want my name in print please!!
Hi, Vanessa. I am a longtime reader of your blog and just want to say that it’s beautiful! I’m not a mother, but I so enjoy all of your posts and love letters to your babies. Truly precious.
I also wanted to comment that I’m a reader of the “Marriage to Motherhood” blog as well and was very disappointed to find out that’s now invite only. (Am I wrong?) I go to both your blogs weekly so I’m going through withdrawals! LOL. Any feedback about Jessica’s site? Any info would be appreciated.
Hi JROD! I miss Jessica’s blog too! I often get emails or comments from readers wondering about access to her blog. She is taking a break and has set From Marriage to Motherhood to a private status until she figures out what to do with almost four years of content. Jessica is an amazing woman and wonderful friend, so I can relate to the withdrawals!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment and I appreciate your readership!
I was wondering the same thing about From Marriage to Motherhood. I learned about your blog from hers. I sent her an E-mail yesturday inquiring. I’m also going through withdrawal from that blog.
I absolutely enjoy reading your site too and hope you don’t leave us hanging any time soon!!
Oh trust me Ladies, I have begged and begged. She just needs a little break, as she is SO busy these days. We’ll see where her path leads.
