Home Depot Giveaway Winner! {And Our First Night At Home}

It has been a very productive weekend over here. We moved into our new home, and although we still have a few odds and ends at our old place, most of our belongings are now here. It feels SO awesome!

The best part? After a long day, and getting Alina to bed upstairs, Daddy D and I got to snuggle on the couch and watch our brand spanking new TV. This seemed to be his first time soaking in his new environment and all he has been able to accomplishment. Between a crazy work week, and then a weekend full of moving and unpacking, Daddy D was finally able to sit still and appreciate the “fruits of his labor”. I have not seen Daddy D so happy in a very long time, and I can’t tell you how happy that made me. We’re exhausted, but happy.

Also to appear in the midst of all the chaos was our Christmas tree! My poor sweet Alina has not experienced the joys of the holiday season this year, so the least I could do was set up our tree. My Step Mom gave us this tree last year. It is pre-lit and even has a few ornaments attached to it, so the very least I had to do was plug it in and push a button. The tree is set up in our formal living area, at the bottom of our staircase, so it was the first thing she saw as she came down the stairs {after sleeping in our home for the first night}. I grabbed my camera and she ran and sat by the tree without me even asking… my little princess was SO happy!
