In Love And Feeling Beautiful: Honeymoon Beauty Advice

In Love And Feeling Beautiful: Honeymoon Beauty Advice

The Summer heat and our upcoming anniversary have got me pining away for a romantic vacation abroad with my love like we had on our honeymoon so many years ago. Back when Daddy D was only mine, we loved to travel. For our honeymoon, we escaped to the magical country of Greece and we had a BEAUTIFUL time!

Like for my wedding, I wanted to feel and look my best while on my honeymoon. Because our itinerary was a healthy mix of active sightseeing on the mainland of Greece and lounging on the island beaches, I had to be prepared for anything. I like to think though that flashing a genuine smile of happiness with a few practical bits of effort can make any new wifey look positivity radiant.

Since my hair is curly, and frizzes with humid conditions, I keep my hair straight for the first few days of a big trip. The straight locks help me look pulled together during flights and travel, and then I’m not rushed to shampoo/condition/style my hair immediately upon arrival. I love my curls, but they take work; work I didn’t care to mess with on the first few days of my honeymoon.

We sweat. I sweat. Women sweat. This is why I wear very minimal makeup while traveling. A light weight, mouitizing foundation with SPF, eyeliner and lip gloss {which hardly ever gets reapplied}. Happy girls are the prettiest girls, says Aubrey Hepburn, and I just can’t be happy with a mixture of sweat and makeup dripping down my face.

We smiled so much while on our honeymoon, and now that I’m looking back on the photos, my smiles look so peaceful and rested. I could definitely tell these pictures are pre-babies! Whether in awe of the Acropolis, hiking Santorini’s caldera or simply in each others arms, our nonstop smiles made for a memorable trip.

My advice for any newly wed couple heading out on their honeymoon would be to: pack light, pack the right stuff and smile. A lot. This is a time for your inner beauty to shine as you start a new life with the one you love.

Did you love your honeymoon as much as your wedding? Or, like me, maybe even a bit more?

  1. girl! you are beautiful and so are your children! love seeing their pics, but mostly, love seeing you as a mama doing your thing and you seriously look just as beautiful now as you did pre-babies! So glad you had the chance to experience Greece on your honeymoon. What a romantic place! Did you make it to the islands at all? It’s a goal of mine!

  2. You look radiant in these pics!
I LOVED my honeymoon. We went to Iceland, Venice, Rome (my fave) and Athens. It was an amazing trip that I hope to be able to repeat someday!
