If you’ve never been to the Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm in Southern California, put it on your list! We were invited to attend the annual Boysenberry Festival for the first time and it exceeded our expectations. Actually, I was excited at how much fun the whole family had – no member was left out! Who knew that delicious food fest with live shows and entertainment, a Wine + Craft Brew AND a theme park to delight the kids would create the perfect backdrop for a spring afternoon? Knott’s Berry Farm is definitely getting it right for families here in SoCal with the Boysenberry Festival!

This might have been our first visit, but it certainly won’t be our last. The Boysenberry Festival is the perfect spring time tradition for Southern California families.

Here are some of our takeaways from Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival

Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival is open from April 1st to April 23rd (that’s 3 whole weeks!) and is included in the season pass. From pie eating contests, a beautiful craft fair and live entertainment, there is so much going on in addition to the food fest.

For 2017, the mouthwatering line-up of boysenberry inspired dishes will feature irresistible boysenberry pizza made with arugula and goat cheese, the unforgettable and delicious new ravioli dish packed with boysenberry flavors, freshly-baked boysenberry fry bread and lip-smacking corn on the cob with boysenberry butter and mayo, each dish will leave guests wanting for more. Other must try items include crispy deep fried alligator bites paired with farm-made zesty boysenberry aioli, finger-lickin boysenberry BBQ wings, savory boysenberry meatballs, sweet boysenberry cream soda, creamy chocolate covered boysenberry cheesecake on a stick and many more delicious treats. Additional fee for tastings. You can even take home the exquisite Boysenberry BBQ sauce, Boysenberry Butter, Boysenberry Dressing and Boysenberry Chipotle Sauce can do so by stopping by the Berry Market located in the California MarketPlace and General Store located in Ghost Town. We bought some and have using it on everything!

Our Boysenberry Tasting Card Favorites

My kids aren’t picky eaters at all. I love that they’ll try anything at least once, so the $25 Tasting Card was the perfect way for us to get familiar with Knott’s Berry Farm’s boysenberry plates. Unanimously, my family’s favorite boysenberry offering on the Tasting Card were two of the savory options: Boysenberry BBQ Meatballs and the Boysenberry Buffalo Wings.

We loved the flavors so much that we stocked up on the Boysenberry BBQ sauce at the near-by marketplace!

Alina and I also enjoyed the flavors of the Boysenberry Pizza, which had goat cheese and arugula on top. But MY favorite was the Boysenberry Cider found at Wilderness Dance Hall. The Boysenberry Wine + Brew beer garden has it’s own tasting card, complete with 6 tasting rounds and a plate of  cheeses, grapes and nuts that offer the perfect accompaniment to their refreshing drinks, and we had a great time there.

I can see Daddy D and I coming here for a date night!
