Las Vegas Head Shot Photography

I meant to write a book review for today’s post on Amy Chua’s ‘Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”. I promise, I did. But yesterday late afternoon my sister asked if I could take new head shots for her {she’s an actress; or actor, depending on who you talk to}, and I was more than happy to put the essay aside to photograph my beautiful girl.

The Las Vegas weather was perfect for a photo session, and I also had a location picked out that I was excited to utilize. More than anything however, I love my sister to the moon and back and would do just about anything she asked of me.

Now that I am adjusting the AF points manually, my images are much sharper. Instead of toggling, I set my focus point at the eye closest to me or square between the eyes. It’s a bit more work, but the results are worth it.

I think these images turned out quite nice. It helps to have an AMAZINGLY gorgeous model to work with! And my overly critical sister even liked a couple of them. I call that a photo session success!

And what was Alina doing during all this excitement? Ohh, just being the best assistant I can ever ask for! She manned the Starbucks, made Auntie smile and, in general, was a very good girl despite the humidity and flushed little cheeks. I think she liked watching Momma move around taking pictures of someone else for a change!
