The Meaning of Siblings – Week 19

I can’t believe how much Sebastian has come into his own the last couple months. The Meaning of Siblings has been able to capture it, too. This week especially, I notice signs of the little boy he has grown into. He’s funny and physical… and so in love with his big sister. These two are attached to the hip and it’s only now they are beginning to realize how much they miss each other when apart.

This week I recall thinking that Alina’s jealousy towards her brother has begun to taper off. It had never been very bad – I feel so grateful for that – but did hit a peak where I noticed some negative behavior from her. It seems the more Sebastian communicates, the more she wants to engage him. I don’t have many, if any, favorite from this week from a photography stand point, but each photo moves me nonetheless.

I’m trying to catch up on this little photo memory project (since I lost so much ground over our crazy summer), but being behind also gives me hindsight. Photos that I may not have valuable so much then becomes treasures. Like this one of you Alina, on day 140, messy hair and stick drawings, I value your sincere love of family and treasure the fact that, as a woman, you will one day carry this family’s legacy squarely on your shoulders. And days 138 and 139 of you, Sebas. You make this family laugh! And for the three very serious temperaments that came before you, you are such a breath of fresh air. Bless you both, no matter if you love or hate one another, and may you always remember the true meaning of siblings…

Te quiero siempre mi tedacitos de amor,

Su Mama
