Multiracial Mother’s Day Gift Guide: For Moms Building A Legacy

Multiracial Mother's Day Gift Guide

What is it about raising multiracial children that brings us – those of us privileged to guide their biracial identity and keep them safe from this world’s callus prejudice – together? It isn’t that “mixed kids are the cutest” or that we’re struggling with what society thinks of our interracial families.

We’re bonded because we’re building a legacy.

As mothers of biracial kids, we’ve given birth to a brand new kind of legacy. One that wasn’t ours or our partners; one that is blended with varying heritage and experience. And especially for my fellow bicultural Latinos, we’re bonded in pursuits of bilingualism and culture, in hopes that our deeply rooted essence isn’t lost with the next generation…. regardless if they’re “Latino enough”.

Happy Mother’s Day, my fellow Legacy Moms! Thank you for making my motherhood so much better. I invite you to check out a few gifts for Mother’s Day that I think a legacy creating and documenting mama would love. If you enjoy it, please pin and share with other moms who might benefit!
