Sights and Sounds of New Orleans from #NicheMommy12

The reason I love to travel lies purely in the immersion of your soul with sights and sounds for which you are not familiar. I’m always amazed at how the stimulation to that part of my being brings about so much happiness. I simply cannot tell you how at peace I am when I travel; maybe learning how the world is so much bigger than my tiny bubble brings me solace. For me, I need the occasional reminder that life isn’t so serious; to have fun and cherish the wonders of our environment. Hey, when else would you catch me dancing in the street to the upbeat tempos of some horn-playing music men! And there is literally music spilling out of everywhere in NOLA, so you would have caught me dancing in any number of streets.

Traveling also always brings me back to my love of photography. I love to look at the world through that magic box of glass and wonder. Just think. There is so much world out there! Photography, like travel, is about viewing the world the way you want to; there is no right or wrong way to do it. My pictures aren’t perfect, but they’re mine. And the time spent taking them is like food for my soul.

Here are some of my favorite shots of the sights and sounds of New Orleans from last month’s trip to my first blogging conference, Niche Mommy.

Oh NOLA, how I love you so. And we barely just met; there is still so much to see and do! I will be back, especially since finding out that Niche Mommy will be in New Orleans again next year. I learned how, like Vegas, New Orleans really offers so much for a family with young children to do. Bourbon Street was an experience, but New Orleans offers so much more. And I cannot wait to take the kids, and Daddy D. It is a place that the whole family will love!

Until my eyes and ears are filled with your good lovin’ beats, I will be thinking of you NOLA.

  1. You’ve got some great photos here. New Orleans is kind of cool. We are about 45 minutes away but don’t go nearly as much as we should. I enjoy the history the most. See you next year.
