Alina’s First Summer: 2010

It’s officially summer time and I am having a b.l.a.s.t. hanging out with my little toddler. I can’t be the only Mom who thinks their kid is super cool, right? Summers used to look way different for me, before my Mommyhood began. Lounging by whatever source of water available for hours, sans sunscreen, and a smoothie with an umbrella was my kind of summer back then. But boy oh boy, I’m not sure I’ve ever had more fun! I can hang out with Alina all day, running through splash pads, playing at the park, relaxing by the pool… I am seriously loving this Mommy thing!

Last summer, however, Alina was still an itty bitty. Hardly six months old. I was worried about which kind of sunscreen – of which I used California Baby – how much sunscreen, hats, the heat. And she was always nursing and needing something or another. I loved having a baby, but I’ve got to say, this toddler thing is way more my speed.

All that gear and worry was much too much to lug around, but to not have enjoyed the summer with my baby just wasn’t an option. So, I did what moms do best – grin and bear it. Regardless, Alina was still the cutest little six month old at the pool. And I took plenty of photos to prove it! For the sake of documentation, here are some of my favorites from Summer of 2010…
