Circus Party Food!

I hope you have seen the pictures of the circus party – Camden’s Big Top Circus baby shower, because it turned out so adorable!! And today I wanted to highlight our menu from that day, a great collection of circus party foodthat just about anyone will enjoy. This is actually where I was able to help out a bit in the planning. My Sister asked for my help in this department. She wanted a menu that you can gobble up with your fingers and also one that resembled the kinds of snacks that so many people delight in when attending a circus. The shower was at two in the afternoon; after lunch and not quite dinner, perfect time for some finger fare. Sister ordered gourmet popcorn from the Las Vegas local popcorn expert and her stuff is insanely delicious! There is a huge variety of flavors available. My sister ordered cheddar cheese, jalapeno ranch, crazy confetti, and {my personal favorite} strawberry cheesecake. There is literally a flavor for anyone’s liking.

We decided on a hot dog bar, complete with regular condiments like ketchup, mustard and relish. I also served a homemade three bean chili served with sides of shredded cheddar cheese and chopped onion. We threw in some fries {some of which I seasoned with garlic and rosemary} and juicy watermelon as sides.

Instead of a cake, my Step Mom made yummy cupcakes that were placed in small boxes for guests to take home. She made three flavors: confetti cake with white frosting, strawberry cake with strawberry frosting and yellow cake with chocolate frosting. All were super delish!

I am not the party planning professional that my Sister is. I don’t even pretend to like party planning… I had nightmares for weeks before my wedding that nobody showed up… but I can’t deny that the end result of all of my Sister’s loving labor resulted in a memorable event. And some cute pictures! With all the love and hard work she puts into her events, our family is able to have some truly memorable experiences.

Wow! Your family sure knows how to throw a shing-dig! It’s all so amazing. I feel sorry for my boys now.
