It’s so hard to believe that summer is almost over… where did the month go? This week was filled with a couple big days for our family legacy, and being able to document them with The Meaning of Siblings makes me happy- Alina started school (I wrote a love letter to my preschooler) on my birthday. We spent out last official day of summer with some friends at a local pool and also enjoyed our gym’s outdoor pool this week too. It makes me happy to raise babies who love the water. Swimming doesn’t come naturally for my cautious girl, but she is coming around. Swim lessons start next month, too.
My favorite day is probably 84. We checked into the resort where we got married and as the kids sat in the same spot I married their dad, I couldn’t help but get emotional. I always prayed that I would get married, be in a stable marriage and raise kids to feel secure and safe. I didn’t always have that growing up.
Likely because Alina started preschool this week, but the age gap between the two of you seemed much larger than 2 years and 3 months this week. Alina so desperately wants you to talk to her, Sebastian. And you want to, also… but the words are coming slowly. Even still, you two enjoying playing “tag” and “ready, set, go” and reading book together. When frustrations run high, though, things can get fairly hairy.
I’m looking forward to a new routine with you, Sebastian… I plan to take you to storytime like I did when Alina was younger. Those experiences helped her to grow so much. And when Sebas naps, you and I will start supplementing your learning, baby girl. Very ambitious for your busy mama – but you two are my priority.
Te quiero tanto,
