Officially a third of the way through the year, The Meaning of Siblings brings lots of hand holding and sibling love. Last weekend we stayed a few nights at the resort where we got married. It was fun, but not without its challenges. The weather was also very gloomy, putting a damper on our pool day plans. It was fun taking a few shots of the kids in this hallway, where my favorite wedding photo was taken on day 85.
I love constantly being on the look out for what the meaning of siblings is for my two babies. Right now, it definitely means big sister having an edge over little brother. On day 87, Alina crawled into Sebastian’s crib, threw his blanket over his head and played ghost. Poor baby didn’t know whether to be scared from all her noises or laugh from her ridiculousness. Day 87 had me chuckling.
Since I no longer have a regular babysitter, my work/life balance is totally out of whack. Like my old days of new motherhood, I try to stay on the go. If I’m out of the house, I’m a “good mom”, like on days 89 and 90. If I’m home, I’m stressing from all the work, and not focused on the kids. It’s an impossible balance. Like Daddy D always says, “be careful what you wish for.” Also, Alina completed her first full week of preschool on Friday (day 91)! Congratulations, Sissy! We are so proud of you!
Last week was fun, but I am looking forward to September. We have so much in store for us this coming week! Daddy D is off from work all week, and we’re heading on our first family vacation as a family four. We’re also going to see your Abuelo, my dad, who we haven’t spent time with like this before. This trip is also about work, as I’ll be speaking at the Niche Parent conference. I hope that our family trip is everything I wish it to be.
Te quiero mis babies,
