Coffee Gift Baskets Idea for the New Keurig 2.0 Owner

Do You Have a Coffee Lover At Home?

For the coffee lover at your house, I can’t say enough about the new Keurig 2.0 coffee maker. It has the wonderful conveniences of single cup brewing, with the added ability of making carafes too. You can read my full Keurig 2.0 review as a Walmart Mom here, but ever since I brought it home, my brother has been in love. He wants one so bad! So when they were on Rollback at Walmart, I picked up a machine for him and my SIL at Walmart. It’s the perfect Christmas gift!

As a gift from the kids though, I wanted to make a simple coffee basket filled with everything a new Keurig 2.0 owner would need. After learning so much about gift baskets while on our holiday trip to Walmart headquarters a few months back, I know how easy to can be to make a holiday gift basket with just a few things from Walmart. Here’s what we did…

When designing a gift basket, you need to consider a few components like function, fillings and form (how the arrangement looks when pulled together). It was so fun learning from the pros at Better Homes and Gardens while at Walmart HQ! First, you need a basket for your gift. I love this BHG Wire Basket with Chalkboard for less than $10 at Walmart. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it in my store and didn’t have time to buy online so I kept looking.

There are so many selections of Walmart baskets and bins that make a great base for coffee gift baskets, but I ended up going a different route entirely. Remember those beautiful BHG holiday platter and bowl that I used for my DIY Christmas Centerpiece? Well, since my SIL loved them as much as I did, I thought I would make this coffee gift basket work overtime!

I picked up another pair of the holiday platter and serving bowl, plus two over-sized holiday mugs to work as the base of my coffee gift basket.

What’s Inside Keurig 2.0 Coffee Gift Baskets

The thing we all love the most about the Keurig 2.0 coffee makers is the fact that we can have any kind of hot and cold beverage we want, brewed to perfection. So for these coffee gift baskets, you should highlight that function with a variety of K-Cups! My brother and SIL love Starbucks, so I made sure to add a whole box of single serve Starbuck K-Cups. The holiday blend would also be perfect for this basket! In addition, I added hot cocoa K-Cups and some teas. Everything they love to drink!

But the really awesome feature of this new machine is the ability to brew carafe, too. So I added plenty of the carafe sized K-Cups into the gift basket, too.

To add festive elements of the season, I added a few scented pine-cones, a bit of candy cane chocolate stuffing stuffers, holiday ornaments and tissue paper to add a bit of height to the arrangements. I still have to wrap the whole thing in cellophane, but maybe I won’t. It already looks so cute and festive sitting on top of the big, wrapped Keurig box that I might just leave it exactly as it is.

It’s funny how, though my brother already knows what’s inside, he gets all giddy when he sees his presents sitting under the tree! Nothing makes a coffee lover more happy than more coffee! Ha! And it makes me happy to know that my loved ones will have everything they need to start brewing into their happily ever after as soon as they open their gift baskets.

Happy brewing!

My husband has been thinking of updating our old Keurig to one that has the options for a pot of coffee and a single mug. As I was reading your article, you state that your favorite part about the Keurig makers is the fact that you can have any cold or hot beverage. My husband loves this idea as well; he loves iced and hot coffees.
