My Kid Is Too Giant For Strollers, And I’m Not Happy About It

Britax B Ready Stroller Review, Stackable Stroller or Not?
I’ve been a Britax Latina Ambassador for two years – two years!! That’s like a lifetime in blogger years and deserves some kind of celebration! We’ve all grown up quite a bit within that time. I visited Britax headquarters in North Carolina and was able to test their innovative ClickTight Technology that has literally changed our lives. (See a full review of the Britax Frontier 90.) I’ve been able to report the latest product developments and even the values and ethics of this stand-up company. It’s true, this post is sponsored by Britax and I’m proud to support them year after year.

But, much to my dismay, my little girl has also grown in the last two years. In the most loving way possible, you’ll sometimes hear me referring to her as my giant. Is that mean? She’s huge! At hardly 4.5 years old, Alina rocks it out at 55 pounds on the dot. She inherited every bit of her daddy’s height and, presumably, my… umm… girth? In any case, I don’t really feel like celebrating that my girl is now, officially, too heavy to stroll in her world-class Britax strollers. Not happy at all!
Britax Stroller Weight Limits
All of Britax’s strollers – including their fully customized and gorgeous Affinity Stroller – have a max weight limit of 55 pounds, which means no more stroller usage for my giant girl. In truth, she hardly ever uses single strollers (the Britax B-Nimble was always meant for Sebas, anyway), but the double strollers have been life-savers. The stackable double strollers are great, but I love having the Britax B-Agile Side-by-Side double stroller for long trips. We’ll be using it for at least another year, even if we’re breaking the rules a bit!

She might be too big for strolling, but I’m so grateful that Britax ensures even big kids stay safe while on the road with their top-quality convertible car seats. With the Fronteir 90, she can stay in a 5-point harness for up to 70 pounds… or next year? Haha, I’m  just kidding.

I love that Britax has some of the higher weight restrictions (car seat wise) and that was what pushed me to splurge on them. Knowing my daughter will take after her tall (and sturdy) parents, I will take whatever extra amount I can keep my daughter in the 5 harness.

I’m sure if the stroller is well built (which they are) a little rule breaking is okay. I have a different brand in a similar model and was able to push my 120 lb sister around in it without it breaking.

120 lbs? That is awesome! I can totally see Alina as a teenager wanting to be pushed around in a stroller. Ha!

Omg…I am getting sad about the same thing! My baby girl is only about 40 pounds, but she is about to outgrow her stroller and I am so disappointed! It SOOO convenient, especially when we have long day trips and her little feet get tired. Ugh!

If you’re listening Britax, please make a stroller for big kids! LOL. 😉
