Look And Find Book Series: Alina’s New Favorite

One of my favorite blogs to check on is Gerri’s from The Kimble Krew. Gerri is a beautiful young mom and wife, who is also a teacher. Her fantastically adorable daughter, Morgan, is about a year older than Alina. Gerri is a momma of my own heart, writing detailed posts of Morgan’s developments and the day-to-day activities she does with her daughter. I feel like I have my own personal, professional teacher showing me what is around the developmental corner for Alina and fun activities I can do with my baby girl to help her along. This post in particular, from way back in June, is when I fell in love with this adorable momma/daughter duo:
Official Summer To Do List + Our Little Nature Walk.

A few months back, I emailed Gerri with questions on Morgan’s book collection. I wondered if Gerri had any suggestions for “big girl” books on potty training, bedtime, cultural celebrations or anything else she felt Alina would benefit from. Gerri responded with a plethora of recommendations, complete with links, explaining that Alina would especially benefit from books from the Look and Find series. I had no idea what these books were about, but bought the Dora the Explorer edition {I think I found it at Ross for about $5}. Recently, I also purchased the Sesame Street: Elmo’s Potty Book. Morgan has both books, which came recommended by Gerri. I will be on the look out for other Look and Find books as well.

Boy oh boy, was Gerri right! Alina LOVES these books, and so do I! It took some time for her to get the concepts of search, point and match, but now it is exhilarating to watch my little girl’s eyes scour the page for her hidden object. Goodness gracious, these kids learn so fast! I would have never thought Alina was ready for books of this nature without Gerri’s prompt. Thank you SO much, Gerri!

Each book has a cute story, but the real fun is the column of objects that are hidden on the page for your little one to find. Alina doesn’t find every object every time, but a good majority of the time she does. Our new potty book has been great in reinforcing the other potty training stuff we have already introduced her to. Alina loves books, especially the Look and Find series, and I hope that her love of reading carries on well into adulthood. That’s the plan, anyway!

And since we can’t leave a post about Alina without one {or two} of her silly faces…

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Thanks for the heads up! Gotta check these books out. Love the pics, especially the close up of Alina looking up into the camera!

The moments you captured this day are so sweet! I love the pic of her holding the book open and “reading” it! And the one where she’s looking up at the camera. And the one where she’s on her belly “thumbing through.” Okay, I guess I just love them all! She’s so lucky to have a mama who is so, so talented.
