PBS Kids: Martha Speaks
Routine be gone, it’s summer time! With Alina out of school, we’re still trying to figure how to balance work and fun, so I’m happy that PBS Kids has increased their programing (called Double the Fun!) while we figure it all out. This week also starts Martha Speaketh Weekth! Alina’s favorite talking doggie is celebrating summer fun with a week of new vocabulary on PBS Kids. Beginning June 16th, Martha is back with three new episodes!
During Martha Speaketh Weeketh, our kids can watch their favorite canine linguist speaking in questions, in Polish, and even Elizabethan English. Martha is our favorite bilingual pup! We got the chance to preview these 3 new episodes and Martha doesn’t disappoints. She always has Alina laughing while learning new vocabulary words.
The fun continues online with a brand new game, Martha’s Steaks! Children learn vocabulary as they make Martha’s and her friends chase after what a dog loves best – steaks! And drumsticks and pork chops! There are still plenty of Martha Speaks Printables that little artists love to learn with. Alina loves drawing, painting and coloring dogs – and these Martha printables are her favorite!
I’m working with Alina this summer on preparing her for Pre-K success next fall – including early literary skills – and I’m always grateful for quality programing that reinforces the lessons we focus on.
