5 Ways to Enjoy Juice Concentrate (other than as juice)

I’m a huge fan of juice concentrate. It’s fresh when you make it, easy, convenient and simple to make. And there are so many uses for juice concentrate. I don’t just use it to make juice! asked me to check out Old Orchard – one of my all time favorite brands of juice concentrate – I knew that I’d have lots to say!

When I buy juice concentrate, I look for the standard that Old Orchard has. Old Orchard 100% Juices and Juice Blend frozen concentrates contain no added sugar, no artificial flavors and no preservatives. Each 8-oz glass equals two servings of fruit and contains 120% of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C. Not to mention, each can makes 48 ounces and is available at Walmart for just $1.47 – an incredible value!

ways to use juice concentrate other than just making juice

Here are 5 ways to use juice concentrate:

1. Marinade: I cook plenty of Cuban recipes at home. It’s fundamental to our family’s food culture, legacy and the traditions we keep. If you love Cuban food too, you’ll know that we use lots of citrus flavors in our marinades. I love using orange juice concentrate in these marinades because it gives the meat an extra juice flavor and I always have it on hand.

2. With Veggie Powders: I don’t let my kids have juice very often. It is definitely a treat for them – and the really love it! I love keeping juice concentrate on hand for that special treat (of which I can dilute accordingly!). Since they don’t know any better, I also almost always add a scoop of our green veggie powder. Now, that’s a win, win! They get a refreshing treat, and I get their nutrient intake without any fuss.

3. Green Smoothie: Since we don’t keep pre-made juice on hand most weeks, having juice concentrate in the freezer makes sweetening green smoothie easy. Just one scoop, straight out of the resealable can, is perfect for a carafe of delicious spinach smoothie.

4. Salad Dressing: I love cranberry based vinaigrette salad dressings, and Old Orchard’s Cranberry Blend is my go-to juice concentrate to whip up a homemade version. Super easy, and oh-so yummy.

5. Popsicles: I’ve actually never made popsicles with Alina before. Can you believe that? We’ve made ice cream together, but now that the weather is heating up, I can’t wait to test out various popsicle recipes. Just a bit of juice concentrate, coarsely chopped fruit and a bit of water to taste, will make delicious warm weather treats!

Old Orchard is my favorite juice. Been drinking it 20+ years. 😉

It was always my mom’s go-to too. She used it for everything and we made popsicles with it at least once a week during the hottest parts of the summer. 🙂
