It’s been a long, sad day since the regular postings of Tasty Tuesday recipes and Bountiful Baskets recaps. While I haven’t abandoned home cooked meals altogether, the new kid and new house most certainly put a damper on our healthy living focus.
Everyone has their vice, and although I keep a pretty clean home in terms of the food items that enter our kitchen, and thus our bodies, its the laziness to prepare those foods that ultimately gets me into trouble. I like to eat out; fast or otherwise, I just like it. To my credit, the absence of high processed foods in our home means that Alina hardly ever snacks on cookies, chips or the like {soda is a HUGE no, no}. But, no excuse. What good is whole, organic foods if they are just going to sit in your fridge? AND, hello! When does Momma take care of her own health? Answer: NOW!
For so many reasons, I am ready to put my health in the forefront. I want to focus on beautifying my insides, instead of just focusing on being “skinny”. {I put quotations because, regardless of how thin I’ve been, “skinny” has always eluded me.} Anyway, who cares about being skinny if your insides look disgusting? I’m a mom now, with two babies who need me to stick around, so its time to treat this body with the utmost respect.
Starting with breakfast…
The first wavelength my newly awakened brain cells crave each morning is COFFEE! Cafe con leche, a cup of joe, whatever you want to call it… I need it. I drink mine with lots of milk. No sugar. And its divine. But while Alina chows on oatmeal with dried fruits, I go until lunch with nothing more than a cup of half coffee/half milk. No wonder I’m feeling sluggish! I needed an easy, quick method to get the most amount of nutrients into my body in one serving {preferably first thing in the morning}.
On a trip to Whole Foods with a good {health nut} friend, we came across Green Vibrance made by Vibrant Health. My friend already used the green powder to amp up her smoothies, and urged me to try it as well. Do you remember the daily green smoothies I used to make? Ha! The thought of buying, storing, processing all those greens and making a daily smoothie seems a bit more than I can take on right now. A green powered additive is something I could deal with, however. But was it worth the high price tag? I decided to find out.
Along with being packed with a variety of amazing greens and super foods, Vibrant Health’s Green Vibrance is toted to be:
- More complete nutrition; a host of rare, scarce nutrients.
- Support for digestion and gastrointestinal function*
- Support for healthy circulation*
- More energy*
- Support for clearance of waste products of metabolism, detoxification*
- Support for neurological health*
- Support for cardiovascular function*
- Support for normal blood sugar and cholesterol*
- Support for immunity*
- Resistance to oxidative changes associated with aging*
- And some consumers swear they look younger
They also have a full disclosure label, so you know exactly how much of what is in it. Many other powders I considered simply just listed a mix of ingredients without a specified amount.
The directions say the powder can be mixed into anything… water, milk, juice… which makes it simple. But I assume I could also make a smoothie for days that I have the extra time and energy. So, instead of calorie counting and dieting {which I really shouldn’t do since I’m breastfeeding}, or an intensively restrictive meal plan, my goal is to just eat breakfast. That’s it.
I was not compensated for this post. I am not affiliated with Vibrant Health at all. I just need an easy way to get the most nutrients into my body because there is a huge lack in my diet and I’ve been feeling the outcomes. This product is what research led me too. My plan is to drink Green Vibrance every day for 30 days without fail, and document any changes that I may feel. Since this investment is considerable {if you determine to include it in your daily diet long term}, I want to be sure its worth the cost.
