They’re versatile, comfortable and the unofficial uniform of busy moms everywhere, but the modern new styles in the 2016 Spring collection from Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™ are nothing like the typical “mom jeans” of yesteryear. Actually, I’ve pretty much fallen in love with these modern pairs of skinny jeans and capris!

Modern Jeans for Busy Moms
I’m a full figured, Latina mom of two active kids. While I once made attempts to fit into jeans that either didn’t fit or were unflattering cuts, I’m wiser now. So so much wiser! Nowadays, I only wear jeans that make me feel good – on the inside and out – and my “mom jeans” must fit certain criteria. For starters, they must be comfortable and fit my existing body type. This is a big deal and a part of practicing self-love. No more stuffing into too-small or too-stiff jeans! I love skinny jeans, but they should also have stretch so that I can keep up with my 4-year-old son. Lastly, I’m a fan of dark washes, as they’re easier to dress up and enhance my full figure.
For a casual daytime look, the Marissa Pull-On Capris from the Spring 2016 Collection is such an awesome choice! They’re available at Walmart for an everyday low price and with the quality that Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™ is known for. The premium Simply Stretch denim keeps its shape all day while being a very comfortable jean. The waistband helps to keep everything look smooth under tops, which is a huge plus for me, and still has a very modern appeal. They’re pretty much the best thing ever!
The Simply Stretch Modern Skinny jeans are the perfect choice for any time of day, from school pick up to a mom’s night out. I choose a pair of the Curvy Skinny style because they fit perfect around my thighs. The mid-rise jeans fits just below the waist and was comfortable, too. These jeans are made with a snap back denim that is designed to keep its shape all day long, which I think it did pretty well. I might buy a size smaller next time (if you could believe that!) to ensure they don’t stretch too much around the waist.
Mom jeans have come a long way in recent years! I totally appreciate companies like Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™ that make modern fashion for all the body types that moms come in. Especially for us full-figured mamas, I love knowing that I can feel comfortable and look modern and on-trend during while hanging out with my two babies.
